Dr. Yilong Chen, General Director of Asia Pacific Affairs & Chief Representative in China of AIAG (Automotive Industry Action Group), invited by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, visited the Auto Chongqing 2006 (Chongqing International Auto Industry Fair 2006) and presented at the opening ceremony on 20th May, 2006.
Governors, representatives of associations and entrepreneurs attended the opening ceremony: Mr. Huang Qifan, vice standing major of Chongqing Municipal People’s Government; Mr. Jiang Lei, secretary-general and vice standing president of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers; Mr. Wu Jianong, vice mayor of Chongqing Municipal People’s Government; Mr. Ding Junfa, vice standing president of China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing; Mr. Gary Y. Wu-vice president of alliance office of Volvo and Mulugetta Birru, director of Department of Economic Development of Charter County of Wayne, Michigan.
In the afternoon, Dr. Yilong Chen made a speech on the topic of Establishing a Win-Win Partnership- AIAG to Support China Automotive Supply Chain at the Summit Forum on “Trucks & Logistics and Introduction on New Logistic Pattern of SCM-Auto Components Industry”. In the presentation, Dr Chen introduced the background, Board of members, objectives and services of AIAG to about 100 representatives from local key auto components and logistics enterprises.
After the forum, Dr. Chen met with Mr. Wu Jianong, vice mayor of Chongqing Municipal People’s Government and had a thorough discussion on the collaboration between AIAG and enterprises in Chongqing. Then Dr. Chen visited the exhibition stands of some celebrated automobile manufactures, such as Ford, GM， Nissan, Toyota and CHANA, together with the officials of the government and associations and other entrepreneurs. and accompanied by about 80 journalists
